The rules regarding footwear that many nightclubs enforce can be a problem for some people, especially those who usually have to wear wide fitting shoes. If you have wide feet then smart leather shoes can be really uncomfortable, particularly if you’re standing up all night on a night out, so trainers is a much more comfortable option. However, if you’re wearing trainers you might find out that a lot of places won’t let you in! Thankfully there are a number of specialist retailers that stock a range of casual and smart wide fitting shoes in a variety of different styles. If you have wide feet and find the shoes bought in high street shops to be particularly uncomfortable then it’s definitely worth tracking down somewhere that sells wide fitting shoes.

However, it only tends to be the much more expensive and upmarket night clubs that insist their patrons wear collared shirts and leather shoes. Nightclubs

If you’re planning a night out on the town and you’re anything like the average member of the British public then the chances are that a visit to a nightclub will be somewhere on the cards. Most towns, even very small provincial towns will have at least one nightclub and in large areas there will be significantly more.

The type of music played in nightclubs will vary according to the venue, although they tend towards popular mainstream chart hits in order to maximise the number of people visiting. If you want to get into a nightclub then you will usually have to pay an entry fee, especially if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, when most people are out partying. Because of these entry fees and the fact that the drinks in clubs are usually extremely expensive you might find that you visit will end up costing you a lot of money. However, by the time you’ve entered a club the chances are you’ll be far too drunk to even give a second thought to the amount of money you’re spending.

If you’re keen to get into a club, especially on a popular night, then it’s probably wise to ensure that you’re not extremely drunk, as the door men are likely to refuse admission to somebody who seems too drunk. Bouncers at nightclubs are perfectly within their rights to refuse entry to anybody, so if they don’t like the cut of your jib then it’s probably a pretty safe bet that you won’t be getting in.

Dance Music

Today the popularity of modern electronic dance music is enormous and if you head out to town on a Friday or Saturday night then you’re almost guaranteed to hear this music being played in at least one popular nightclub. The music is created with the intention of being played in clubs and the widespread popularity and proliferation of clubs has led to an increase in the number of people listening to dance music.

To people who are unfamiliar with the genre then it may seem very confusing at first, especially as there many different sub genres of dance music and electronica, some of which may seem utterly indistinguishable to the casual listener. However, for fans of the genre then these variations are quite different from one another and people who enjoy a certain variant will tend to frequent venues that specialise in this particular type of dance music.

The mainstream dance music that enjoys massive popularity today has its roots in various underground musical movements and this underground element is still prevalent today. There are thousands of underground acts creating various forms of electronic music that may be directly or indirectly linked to dance music. This can be attributed to the widespread proliferation of computers. Nearly everyone has a computer in their home today and anyone who has a computer can easily try their hand at making electronic music, which accounts for the high volume of people creating this type of music. Of course, whether their attempts match up to the classics of the genre is entirely debatable.
